Up to this point, you are probably familiar with one interpretation of United States’ history. You probably learned this interpretation in school. And odds are that you never had a desire to research to see if there were other versions. And that is understandable, as you will learn in Howard Zinn’s book. You have been hardwired to not question what you are told.
Now, there will be some so tightly wired that they will take offense at my mere implying that there exist one, and only one, history of the United States. But that is quite OK. Disagreements can often be very productive.
